The XL Solid Slims…….
We wanted to bring a solid tip float to our range, but it needed to maintain all the key features you expect from a DsFloats.com handmade pole float! Over the last 18 months we have tweaked this pattern and based it around its sister XL Carbon Slim.
It features a solid tip “Hybrid Eye” which simply means it will not let you down or cause you any problems with Presentation. We settled on a combination that blends well together 1.5mm solid tips & 0.7mm Carbon stems, this is the strongest handmade pole float with a solid tip on the market today. No need to whip or anything else to reinforce the eye. We use several eye sizes in our unique eye system to ensure that they don’t affect line lay and Presentation. Sizes we have decided to add in the inbetween sizes like her sister pattern 0.1g 0.15g 0.2g 0.25g 0.3g 0.4g. This pattern is suitable for F1 & silver fish and because of the 0.7mm Carbon stems it offers amazing Stability so can be used and canal style & open water lakes.
Why pick a solid tip over a hollow tip…..
The simple answer is Sensitivity, the air that is trapped in a hollow tip makes it more buoyant and holds up that little more. Where the solid tip has no air pocket and is naturally heavier and more responsive to indications.
